Shall I be Mother?

New work

 Fly Away Home

60cm tall

This larger piece is me playing with "animating" and inanimate object like a large heavy building.
I have attached wings so that it can take off whenever and fly to a different location (in my imagination anyway)

Frogman    Playing with the idea of the hybrid, a frog/man cross.

Clunes Ceramic Award

I am so pleased to be accepted into the Clunes National Ceramic Award again in 2015.  This time, I have entered a raku thrown form, Horizon Line. It opens September 17th.
Looking forward to being there, seeing all the other entries and staying overnight in Graeme's lovely B&B in Clunes, near Ballarat.

Here are a few shots of my most recent raku firings. I am, on the whole pretty pleased with the glazes and finishes, some subtle, some pretty flashy.
These types of works are sold at Craft Victoria, Muse Gallery Milawa, Bendigo Pottery Gallery and the Studio at Flinders.
This one is going to a Ceramic Exhibition. It is my favourite. It is 33cm tall and 20cm wide and has just the right balance of form, colour and crackle that I am trying to achieve.

Top, a selection of high fired forms, in porcelain and stoneware. Trying to achieve that gorgeous richness and depth of colour in the glaze - getting there.
Bottom - A few raku pots that I glazed today (there were many more) They will be fired next week. So looking forward to that fire and the excitement of the burning.
