The last few weeks have been hectic. I have been producing work for my open studio here in Mooroopna. The work recently produced has all been thrown with porcelain and fine stoneware.  I really got into the bottle forms, enjoying the challenge of making bulbous bodies and fine narrow necks.
The glazes are mostly in the green spectrum, and I am striving to create the exact temperature and atmosphere to encourage the soft absorption of one glaze into the other with feathery soft edges.
This is the first time I have had an open studio here. Over the past few years I have put my work into galleries for sale and not sold directly to the public apart from the occasional piece. This year I am opening the studio to allow more direct exchange between myself and the buyer. I am donating 20% of sales to a local charity Goulburn Valley Community Fund which distributes funds to those in need here.
This is an adventure. One added plus is that I have been forced to clean up my studio/shed - I mean really clean it up, cobwebs and all. Although I don't enjoy this process, the outcome will be better.
So hope to see some of you here on Friday 29th, Saturday 30th November or Sunday 1st December from 9 till 5, and I am demonstrating throwing between 10 and 10.30.
